Closure of “MRC Sri Lanka Relief Fund” opened by the Maldivian Red Crescent to donate funds to support the response and recovery efforts of the humanitarian crisis in Sri Lanka caused by Cyclone Ditwah

The “MRC Sri Lanka Relief Fund” was opened by the Maldivian Red Crescent (MRC) to respond to the humanitarian crisis in Sri Lanka caused by Cyclone Ditwah. The fund was opened from 01st December 2025 to 10th January 2026 and raised a total of MVR 204,220.67 and USD 4,697.20.

Closure of “MRC Sri Lanka Relief Fund” opened by the Maldivian Red Crescent to donate funds to support the response and recovery efforts of the humanitarian crisis in Sri Lanka caused by Cyclone Ditwah

The donations collected through the MRC Sri Lanka Relief Fund will support the CHF 14 million Emergency Appeal released by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) to support the provision of humanitarian assistance on the ground by the Sri Lanka Red Cross Society (SLRCS). The Emergency Appeal also aims to support the delivery of critical health services, essential supplies for the operation of humanitarian facilities, transfer of the sick and wounded, search and rescue, provision of clean water, sanitation and hygiene, shelter and provision of basic relief items (including food, clothing, and household essentials).
