COVID19 Vaccination Registration for Migrant Workers in the Maldive

In order to be most effective, vaccination must be made accessible to everyone, so that the community can benefit from it. High rates of vaccination can lower the spread of the disease, and can help vulnerable groups who cannot get vaccinated to stay safe from the virus. It is through vaccinating as many people as possible that the community can become safe and healthy.

Given existing challenges that migrant workers face in accessing essential health services, particularly those who are undocumented, the Maldivian Red Crescent is working with the relevant public authorities and agencies to facilitate the registration process for the COVID19 vaccination for such migrants. While Maldivians and migrant workers with valid work permits can sign up via the central my.health.mv portal, migrant workers who are undocumented are now invited to register with the Maldivian Red Crescent in order to sign up for the COVID19 vaccination.

The registration process is to be carried out through the Maldivian Red Crescent Beneficiary System (MRC BenSys), an online registration system that is independently set up and managed by the Maldivian Red Crescent. All relevant personal information required for and pertaining to the COVID19 vaccination will be collected and stored by the Maldivian Red Crescent, with the data collected through this process to be shared only with the relevant public authorities responsible for the COVID19 vaccination work. Those who wish to get registered can contact the Maldivian Red Crescent’s Migrant Support Centre on 3307665, from 10 AM to 5 PM, Saturday to Thursday, and book appointments to proceed with the registration process. This is to ensure that protocols for physical distancing can be maintained in the registration venue as instructed by Health Protection Agency
